The City of Livermore and Livermore Downtown Inc is thrilled to be able to bring this community event back Downtown Livermore again. This year we’re expanding the viewing area to provide for a safe, family-friendly community experience! Let us gather to celebrate our Nation's Independence as a community, because "United We Shine"!
The fireworks show will begin at around 9:30 pm and will last approximately twenty minutes. Fireworks will be launched off of the Downtown Parking Garage located at 216 Maple Street on Monday, July 4th. The Fireworks show will be choreographed to music which can be heard while on location Downtown at 104.9 FM.
Several roadways as well as parking locations will be closed in the downtown core to assure the safety of community members walking in the area, and those viewing the fireworks show. Please view the Map and Closure detail by clicking here.
Please DO NOT set up chairs, picnic blankets, etc on roadways and driveways until after 4pm, once roadways have been completely closed off from traffic and deemed safe. We also ask that you please refrain from setting up on walkways and pedestrian areas so that we can keep these areas safe and accessible for our community members who require ADA accessibility. Thank you.
Stockmen's Park Parking Lot to become community viewing experience!
The parking lot behind First Street off Railroad and L Street will be closed to allow for a safe, pedestrian-friendly, community viewing experience!! Grab a delicious meal downtown, a camping chair and a picnic blanket and come enjoy the community viewing experience at Stockmen's Park. Let's enjoy celebrating as a community safety
Parking is also available on surface streets around the street closure areas. Please be courteous of residents who live in the surrounding areas. Please exercise patience with traffic and extreme caution with pedestrians as many families will be walking and biking Downtown to experience the fireworks show before and after hours in dark conditions. High visibility clothing, glow sticks and flash lights encouraged while walking around in the evening.
To keep it safe and family friendly... No Alcohol Consumption, BBQs, Fire pits or personal fireworks are allowed. Easy-ups or tents are also prohibited as they block the viewing experience for our fellow community members.
The Best Viewing Experience
The fireworks show will begin at approximately 9:30 pm and will last approximately twenty minutes. The Community members wishing to view the fireworks display are encouraged to congregate on the closed roadways of Railroad Ave. between S. Livermore Ave and South “L” St., on Maple St. between First St. and Third St and First Street from Maple to Flag Pole Plaza. The parking lot behind Stockmen's Park (at Railroad and L St) will also be closed to create a safe community viewing experience with DJ and FREE Glow Sticks for community youth, while supplies last! These locations should be the prime viewing locations, but you're welcome to experience from other downtown locations within the safe viewing areas inside of the street closures.
Community members can bring chairs and set them up on the closed roadways. The fireworks display will not be a high aerial show; instead, it will consist of concentrated low level fireworks that will provide a spectacular show for those in the prime viewing locations. Community members wanting to view the fireworks from other than the prime viewing locations should select a location within a few blocks of the parking garage, with visibility of the top of the downtown parking structure.
This event is designed to provide our residents a place to gather and enjoy their family and friends as a community while experiencing the Livermore Fireworks Celebration.
