Bay Area-based, Bayou-reared Meshach Jackson performs with an intensity of someone raised on equal parts gospel and grunge. Searching for the heart of American music, Meshach’s work is largely influenced by his storied life: the son of a southern preacher, Meshach becoming an ordained minister himself at the age of 18, only to leave the ministry to pursue a career as a songwriter at 21. Joining Meshach, Meredith McHenry and Michael Scott in their duo act, “Splendid Ghost.” Jonny Williams of Crawdad Republic, playing solo, will open the night.
