Proclaimed by Popmatters as the “best new live band in America,” Con Brio is known to convert anyone who sees their electric live show into a fan. At a Con Brio show, smiling faces aren’t buried in their phones, but are rapt to the stage. Founded by veteran players with vastly different musical backgrounds, the band quickly became a favorite up and down the West Coast, then across the U.S., and then overseas. They’ve played at the musical festivals that have best captured the zeitgeist of the contemporary independent music scene, including Bonaroo and Lollapolooza. Come listen for yourself: Horns, guitar, keys, bass and drums get the crowd moving and set the stage for vocalist Sarah Clarke, with a voice that’s equal parts Etta James-rich and Janis Joplin-raw.
